  3. WOW!  That definitely would be an African dish I grew up on called Fufu with an oxtail or beef neck bone stew.  When I was younger my dad(who is from the former Zaire) would make this delicious tomato-based stew full of onions, celery, red, yellow and green bell pepper, bay leaves and the meat of you choice (my fave is oxtails, but fish, crawfish, chicken, or beef neck bones are other options).  Then, he would make the fufu(think dumplings), a flour-based dough, by mixing and kneading white flour with water over heat into a ball of dough.  when it's ready to eat you'd pinch of some dough, roll it into a small ball, then scoop/ dip it into a bowl of stew (pinching meat too).  Might sound a little weird, but IT IS GOOD!  Friends, boyfriends, and cousins(on my American side) from all different types of cultures have tried my dads specialty and stuffed themselves sick.   MAN!  Now I'm hungry.  First thing in the morning, I'm calling my daddy for some fufu for Sunday dinner.

Also, it's a good finger food for kids. Just put down towels first!
