  1. I just started high school too. To tell you the truth, don't worry about the upper classmen too much. I am a freshman but I am taking advanced classes so some of my classes have upper classmen in them. You will get the occaisional moron or two, but it's no big deal. If you have trouble in a subject, then ask for a tutor from the National Honors Society or ask the teacher for help, because they don't have classes every period.  The homework can get a little much, but you have more time to do it because you get home earlier than you did in middle school.  If you don't have classes with your friends, then sign up for clubs together or do something over the weekends. I do not have any classes with my friends, but I made a couple of new friends already and I'm only on my third day. Most people are relly friendly.  And don't worry about being made fun of, because there are SO many people in that school that no one really picks on just one person.  The only thing i have problems with is getting lost! Whatever you do, DO NOT ask the upperclassmen where to go, because most fo them think it is funny to tell you the wrong thing. Run into a teacher's room and ask, follow the signs on the walls, and download a map. After a few days you will know it really easily. Trust me. (:

  2. Don't worry! high school is a huge place full of lots of different kinds of people. I was terrified when I started high school but I soon learned that no matter who you are there will be a niche for you. I quickly found one and I'm confident that you will too. I know that you are just having nerves, and I promise it will get better. Just do your best and be yourself. The best advice I've ever had is just to be a good friend and people will like you. aka if you are nice to everybody, then everybody will love you. Good Luck from an experienced Senior.

  3. High school is nothing that T.V. makes it to be.  It is basically like middle school.  If you where to just go with the flow, and do all of your work, you will get through just fine.  Lay low at first, get a feel for things.  It really isn't anything to be afraid of.  And don't be so bent on how you look,  Being preppy, of popular in school amounts to nothing in the real world and would make you look bad.  One of the things I liked about high school was the freedom you get.  The years just get better and better in that area.  just enjoy it while you can.  You only get to go to H.S. once.

  4. Alright so I started school already, and its pretty fun actually...

New Teachers:okay so its the same as any other year, but the teachers won't be on your back so much because its your responsibility to have things done. I forgot my first homework assignment at home so I was expecting the teacher to yell or get mad, but she just went "aw." and all my teachers said that they will leave us alone about that stuff...its our responsibility now...

New People: tons of new people to meet! Some will be annoying, most will be nice :) Everyone is going through the same thing so everyone relates to you about being worried. Over the first few months of school you'll start talking to different people and settling in with some people and they will probably be people you will be friends with by the end of the school year.

More Fights: Ehh, normal fights between friends will continue...some kids are really defensive(just the boys that are the ones that are known for being bad kids or doing drugs) will be the ones fighting, but you will never get caught in it.

Getting Lost: Carry a map of the school with you for the first week of school. Get one from the main office before school starts, or you might get one with your "first day packet". Keep it in the front pocket of a binder or tape it to a folder that you will bring to each class. Keep that map with you until you are familiar with the whole school. Teachers won't be mad that you are late the first week of school, its pretty confusing the first few days and tons of people are late because they went to the wrong classroom or forgot how to open a locker.

Homework:STAY ON TOP OF IT. Have your homework be the thing you do first when you get home. Don't get on the computer then forget to get off and never get to your homework.

Failing: As long as you pay attention, do your homework, and make an effort to study, you have nothing to worry about.

Losing Friends: Being in different classes, you might not see them anymore. You might grow distant from them, but you definately won't be enemies! You will/might make new friends and so will they...they/you might hang out with the new friends more often than the old friends and grow distant...it might be a little disappointing, but leave the memories as they are. And be excited to make memories with those new friends of yours!

Changing:You might not exactly change...you might because you might be hanging out with new people...but you probably won't notice it. It's not really something to worry about.

Getting Made Fun of: Tell someone if it bothers you. I'm sorry but I really don't have any experience on that because I've never really been made fun of or made fun of someone. I think I have here or there, but i just ignored it and laughed at it.

Locker Combo: Do you one of those little locks at home that your family owns perhaps?Like one you bring to the YMCA? Well if you do, practice entering the combo on that. Remember how to enter it...turn to the right a few times...stop on the first number. turn to the left...pass the 2nd number...turn it to the left more then stop on the 2nd number...then turn to the right and stop on the 3rd number.

As for being horrible at math...it may be weird sounding to you, but stay after school with your math teacher and just go over things. It might not sound appealing, but if you don't want to plain out suck at math, you have to do something about it. Do you know how to actually study for math? No you don't just look over notes like other classes, you have to practice problems. Then bring the problems into class the next day and have your teacher check them. If some were wrong, stay after school and have the teacher explain what you did wrong.

Hope school works out for you :) High school may sound stressful, but I'm looking forward to having fun. Don't get too stressed or that will make the whole experience no fun! I'm a freshman as well :) Sorry for the UBER LONG answer, just trying to help.

  5. People might tell you this already, but really, you will be fine. High school is really not much like anything you see in movies, tv, etc. As for your list of fears; new teachers/people is life, it happens in and out of school. fights; i doubt you'll have to worry about it. plus your friends will have your back, just incase. you wont get lost, you'll get into the routine of things. homework/failing, just make sure you pay attention to what the teacher says on the first day about the way he grades. losing friends and changing personality is a part of life, everyone goes through it; it's not the high school that does it, it's life. as for being made fun of, there is always gonna be someone who think bad about you. just think to yourself; 'why am i so important that i am always on their mind?' & your combination will become a habit. Trust me, everything will be ok.

  6. Don't worry it's not as bad as you think. People don't even pay attention to the freshman that much. As for your locker, in my school no one really used their lockers anyway. Just calm down highschool is only harder in school work wise...

  7. yeah i just started high school too and i was kinda scared.

but you know what? i got over that, and im starting to make some real friends. you just have to be confident in who you are!! dont let anyone tell you what to feel like or act like. and you dont have to worry about getting lost and fogetting things and being late....all the teachers get it. its our first week. they'll let you slide a little. just dont make it a habit!! :]

dont worry about anything...its good that you already have some friends you know...i just started at a brand new school and i knew NO ONE! and i actually like it!  so good luck! :]

  8. highschool is scary at first but you'll get used to it. Just stay out of mess and focus on your work because if you start slacking its hard to catch up and the teachers are not going to baby you. its your choice if you wanna learn or not. always make copies of your schedule so u dont have to get another and dont get lost. Write your combination down everywhere books, pieces of paper. As far as people picking on you.. girls are gonna hate if you are pretty and their boyfriends like you just ignore them and stick to your friends and your school work you will be ok GOOD LUCK!

  9. You answered my question very rude and

i was thinking about coming onto your question and bashing you about it. But as you no, i'm trying to change.

    My answer -

Going into 9th grade may be hard because you're just leaving middle school and are turning into an adult. Even though it sounds like a scary though moving schools, friends, teachers, older girls, everything. It's really not.

Now, Think back to the day when you first entered 6th grade, [ the beg. of middle school. ] I'm sure it was a scary thought then too, but was it really that bad? I remember i was worried about all the older girl who would hate on the younger ones, but it's really not that bad.

If girls start rumors about you, just ignore it. All that says is they're self conscious about themselves and they have nothing better to talk about. They could also be jealous. But soon you will merge from the bottom to the top and will understand what all the freshman girls are thinking or going through. 8th grade to 9th is a hard transition, i admit. But, you have your friends to get you through it.

You're locker combo, wooh i've been through this before. I'm terrible at my lock and often times i forget the combo too. But, i've found it helps if you tell someone you trust and make sure they write it down, incase you forget also, your combo. So, whenever you are unable to get your locker open, or in one of those times when you just can't remember the combo, you can go to him/her. It seriously does work, and I highly suggest you give this a go.

Also, many girl in highschool don't have the body if a model either and nobody even cares. Sure, the stupid plastic, stick thin girls may care, but don't let anyone get you down. Honestly, if you eat healthy and are not too thin, or too overweight for you certain body type, then you are just fine. Don't let anyone ever convince you to lose weight or gain. Oh.. I'm just going to say this because it happened to one of my friends. Don't ever stuff your bra IF you are kinda flat chested. Many girls entering the 9th grade are still growing so don't let the older girls influence you like they did to her. It turns out as a big mistake, so don't ever stoop that low.

Goodluck hun, and i sure hope everything goes well for you in the 9th grade. I hope i also helped you.

  10. Relax, being yourself is the simplest&easiest way to get over your fears. And try to try something new, don't hold back, you never know, you might enjoy it.
