Question:

I am so sleepy and I can't call asleep!?

I am so sleepy. How can I solve this problem? Is it my pillow? Is it because it is hot? I try to sleep early (9:30pm) but can't fall asleep 12:30! What should I do? Please help!

  1. Listen to an iPod or podcasts like On Air With Ryan Seacrest and after a while it will make you sleepy. You will enjoy listening to the music and podcasts aswell.


  2. Well for starters stop freaking out about it. The added stress is actually making it worse. Don't play video games, or get on the computer for at least two hours before you lay down (this stimulates your brain and it will be still going strong when your ready to relax) let some of your stress go, what ever it is, take care of it and be done with it. If it's bills, who cares they'll be there tomorrow and you can start worrying about them again in the morning. Take a hot shower and just relax, lay down (put a fan on you if its that hot) run something for the constant sound. Believe it or not it''s soothing. NOT A RADIO! Like a fan or humidifier or something like that. READ A BOOK!! That puts everyone to sleep huh?.....sweet dreams!

  3. Try changing your pre sleep routine

    1. Eat a cracker and a slice of turkey. Turkey contains tryptophan, a compound that makes us sleepy. It is the reason we all want to go to sleep after Thanksgiving dinner

    2. Drink chamomile tea.

    3. Try to make sure you are not snoring. It contributes to disrupted sleep.

  4. There might be an outside condition. I really don't believe there's something wrong with you. If you feel uncomfortable with the heat open up the AC.

    If you excited about something you might also experience problems sleeping. Basically try to stay as comfortable as possible and try again.
