  1. How is it that you can spend all kinds of time on-line in chat rooms but not have the motivation to look for activities in your area?

I know, I know lots of thumbs down for the mean lady - but come on!!

  2. Contact your local public school. In some states, they are required to allow home-school students to participate in band, sports, theater, etc.

Check into community sports - some communities have soccer or other sports teams that are not school-specific. Check with parks and recreation departments, sometimes they have after-school programs for children and teens.

Your parents really need to appreciate the importance of a social life for you. I've read several questions on here about home-schooled students who are going to college and have no clue how to make friends. You don't want to do that.

  3. Don't worry, I have a gazillion friends who are homeschooled and it's not that bad, because I'm their friend. Anyways, why are you homeschooled? You can convince your parents to send you to an actual school or you can join a club (boyscouts or something.) Summer camp. You can search it online, too. Just type in recreation in the dallas area or something like that. Join the YMCA. I wish you the best of luck!

  4. It looks like you haven't learned spelling or grammar, either.  Get your *** back to regular school!

google "dallas homeschool" or "dallas home school" you'll find a HUGE amount of networks.

No shortage of kids your age in that area so you'll be fine if you put some effort out there.

Perhaps you've just left school life in the last couple of years and it can be a wierd adjustment when everything has been fed to you in a school environment.

    Good luck!

  6. There are a great deal of homeschool activities for students in Dallas.

Right now, the N. Texas homeschool sports association is having tryouts for their athletic teams.  You can find details about that here:

    http://www.hsaa.org/

There are also a number of rec leagues where you can play sports.  Check your local recreation center.  Here are some other ideas for finding sports teams:

Is there a gym near you?  Gyms like Lifetime Fitness and LA Fitness have many programs for middle schoolers and teens.

I know of at least 5 extremely active homeschool groups as well as a couple of co-ops in the Dallas area.  Here's a list:

Take some initiative to get out of the house and meet people.  You can do it!

  7. Why are you homeschooled? Is it because YOU wanted to be or is it because your parents want to to be in a safer, better environment? If YOU wanted to, YOU should be able to choose to go back to regular school. If your parents said, tell them they have to trust that they taught you well enough to learn how to choose the right thing.

If your not allowed to go to public school

  8. Haha, just wait till you get to high school being homeschooled, be prepared to be even more lonely.

All the advice I can give is try to go back to public school now before you become like me, and it's to late and you're to screwed up to even go back.

And I guess just google clubs in dallas....

  9. Another anti home school troll.  Do your parents chain you to the table or lock you in the closet?  If not then then get your behind out of the house and get involved in things.  There are sports, youth groups, YMCA, boys and girls clubs, etc.  The possibilities for socialization are endless, but YOU have to make the effort.

  10. There are TONS of homeschooled kids in Dallas...if you have the time to search chat rooms, why not leave the house and meet some of them?

There are soooo many opportunities open for homeschooled kids.  Join a homeschool group, take part in a co op, join a sports team, volunteer, take some lessons, etc.  The only catch is, you have to leave the house.  The people aren't going to come meet you! :)
