  1. Bonni is right! there are some nice areas bayside, like cleveland, wynnum, victoria pt. I would definately get a local to drive you around, most suburbs have their good and bad points

  2. The answers to this question are very subjective, and the choices given will depend on the life experiences of the people who answer and the amount of bad press people are willing to accept as gospel.

I live around the Ipswich area, and although in the past Ipswich has earned a reputation for being a city full of bogan, troublemakers, it has definitely come of age.  Ipswich has recently been voted the WORLDS most livable city - population 75,000 to 200,000.  So my choice would of course be Ipswich.  Besides my family lives around this area too, so I wouldn't want to move too far from them either.

In Brisbane though: I like areas like Sandford and Paddington, but then other areas like Bridgeman Downs and Holland Park are OK too.

It really does depend on what you are looking for in an area, and where your friends live.

  3. Avoid Logan Central, woodridge, Kingston(south-side)  There is a lot of crime and druggo's there.  That is why I moved away from there.  It is not a place to raise kids that is for sure.  I don't know about anywhere else though.  Hope this helps.

  4. Stick to the North side. Its more expensive but there is a reason for it. The South side is dodgy. Crime and drugs. Of course this happens everywhere but some places are always more suseptable than others. There are some really lovely places in Brissy. I live on the Sunshine Coast which is only 50 mins up the Coast...awesome if you dont really want to live in the city.

  5. Hamilton is nice.  Have you got a coupla mill to spend?

  6. The western suburbs (the ones north of the river) and a few in the  north are Brisbane's best suburbs. I was going to list the western suburbs but they're all upmarket and beautiful and there are too many to list. Hamilton, Ascot and Clayfield in the inner north and Bridgeman Downs in the outer north are also very upmarket.

Avoid anywhere in the City of Logan like Woodridge and Kingston and surrounding locations and stay away from Darra, Oxley, Goodna, Gailes, Redbank and points west to Ipswich. Everywhere else is fine.

  7. ??? i live on the Gold Coast, i'd probably try to move here cause it's nice but i don't know...sorry
