My legs hurt very much and I can barely lift them. It hurts to walk. My arms hurt when I lift them too. I also am sore on my lower back and when I sit down. This is from a basketball camp that I have been doing since yesterday. Would it do me any harm to keep playing the camp lasts until Friday? Is there any way to reduce this pain (other than drugs)? Thank you so much!!!

  1. Tell your coach and he''ll respect it

  2. OMG

I was in a camp for 2 hours for 4 weeks where they worked us like horses and I could hardly walk after, but coach says pain is weakness peaving your body, so I just take it like a man, and you should to.

Everyones goal is to make it on NBA one day, this can also be a warning

(GET IN SHAPE AND TAKE THE PAIN OR QUIT BASKETBALL)

After every single game in Highschool, College and NBA, you will feel like that so make your decision now.

  3. Yeah... I know that feeling.. Im a ball player myself so I know exactly what you're talking about. But the pain is nothing to worry about though. It maybe your first time your body is use to that workout. And pain is gonna come for a while but its not gonna stay for long. Your body just has to get use to that and once that happends then everything will come easy. Trust Me.

  4. yes. it only means you're getting better.

  5. You have to let your muscles rest. Your muscles break down when you overwork them. Which is good! You can be sure that they will rebuild stronger. That's how we increase strength. Know this: they have to have a rest period. Otherwise, the lactic acid, which is being built up from them breaking down by exercise (which causes the pain) has to get out of your system. Suggestion: drink lots of water! I know you don't want to hear this, but muscle groups need time to recouperate after vigorous exercise. Otherwise, you'll end up with an injury. I would sit out a few games if I were you, in order to give your body sufficient time to heal. Remember, drink lots of water and rest. Take care of yourself.

  6. First of all, I have different opinion about games/sports.  I think we should play games/sports to maintain or develop our health and fitness.  Therefore, if it hurts in such a way that it will enhance physical problems (particular when it might become intolerable in the old age), I would quit immediately because games/sports has no priority over my health.

Secondly, if you decide to quit, then you opt to light excercises somewhere in the open air.  It will help you not only maintain your health, but also help soothing down your pains and restore you to normal.

Wish you all the best and the quickest recovery.  So long.

  7. Its because your body isn't used to all the workout. The soreness will go away in a day or two. Stretching might sound like the worst thing to do when your sore; but it actually helps feel better afterwards. It is ok to continue playing :)

  8. ur hurting because ur body isnt used to the strain and the workout so ur in pain and ur muscles ache and they will continue to hurt until ur body gets accustomed to things. it is ok to keep playing actually, that will be the best way to get over the pain...just keep at it and ur body will get used to things and u wont hurt anymore

  9. No pain, no gain. You gotta deal with it if you want to be good. I'm sore every single day, but I still make myself play and work out because I know if I don't, I'm not gonna make it in basketball. And I want to make it, badly. I guess if you're not that serious about basketball, you could take a break...

By the way, what camp are you at?

    Point Guard College?
