  1. dublins amazing! u have to see the spike and stand at it and look up...u'l know what im talking bout when ur there! shop in brown thomas its presh and go to dundrum town center(via the luas from the city centre!) btw the luas rocks its silver! go to the guinness place and go to howth its beautiful(only if the weathers good!)the bus(31) goes straight there from the quays in city centre. check out phoanix park in dublin the bus goes there. check for any gigs/concerts on at the time...great craic!!!! if ur into clubbing go to TwentyOnes on D'olier Street! its fab!

apart from dublin........ go to Dingle in Co.Kerry its the best fot tourists. loads of restaurants and walks on the peninsula and hotels are presh. the people there are lovely and theres an amazing bakery and ice cream parlour and the marine is lovely. and if u go there get a 99 icecream in SuperValue they are the best value icecreams in Dingle!

Cork is nice too....... and Galway..... and Waterford and Wexford!

apart from that dont bother with the other countys! lol

  2. I would spend a day or two in Dublin at the most.

Rent a car and head out west.  Definitely visit Galway, it's a great city.  From there head south and see the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher.

Dingle is great as well (couple hrs south of Galway) and drive around the Dingle Peninsula...its beautiful.

Other good towns to see are Killarney and Kilkenny.

  3. Go to Galway and visit Kylemore Abbey.  It's really cool.

I did Dublin in one day on a bus tour.  It was really boring.  Disappointing, even.  Kylemore Abbey has real nuns.  It's beautiful.  It's what a castle should look like (Dublin Castle looks like a library).  The abbey also has this teeny tiny gothic church.  So cool!

I also suggest that you leave the beaten path.  Some of my most interesting times in Ireland happened when I was walking around.  I met interesting people, "discovered" places.  That's what I like to do, though.  Not everybody is as adventurous and outgoing as I am.

  4. Let the weather carry you away - rain, wind, sunshine you'll meet a little of each in nearly every day. When its wet and windy find a good pub and enjoy the craic with the locals. If its sunny go skinny dipping in the Atlantic. Be the first person to breathe the wind that has blown many thousands of miles from the Americas to the Cliffs of Moher. Visit West Cork, Visit The Wild Edge of the Atlantic Ocean in Sligo and Donegal, Visit The great plains of the Bog of Allen in the Midlands...

    Enjoy it all. Slainte

  5. The Blarney stone, castles and the bottom of a beer stein

  6. I'd recommend visiting Newgrange in county Meath. It's a world-renowned 3,000 year old building. If that kinda thing impresses you, it's worth seeing.

  7. First thing I would say is a week is not enough. However, as you will be only here for a week, try to see as much of Dublin as you can. In the short time of your visit, take one of the open top city touring buses. Hop on & hop off. Visit Trinity College, Dublin Castle, Christchurch Cathedral/Dublinia, St Patrick's Cathedral, and many other places of Interest. Also, visit Howth, Skerries, Malahide, all close to Dublin. Before you leave the county of Dublin, don't miss a visit to St Doulagh's Church, the "Jewel in Fingal's" Crown. It is in Balgriffin, approx 6 miles from Dublin going towards Malahide on the R107. It is Ireland's oldest stone roofed church still in continuous use as a place of worship. It is small, and yet has to be seen to be belived how big it is. You will come for 5 mins.and leave after an hour or two. Visit its many places and rooms. Hear its story going back over 1,500 years.linked to St Patrick and a lot of Ireland's history. You will find in on many websites. Phone to arrange a visit if you wish. There are many places of interest around the country. Write to Bord Failte, in O'Connell St, Dublin 1 for information. or go into the internet under Ireland and you will get loads of information. Plan the places you would like to see, but do not overstretch yourself, as you can always come back again. When dining out, ask if they have a tourist menu, or an early bird menu, and also, you get very good meals in most pubs. Enjoy your stay in Ireland, and you will find that you will receive a Cead Mile Failte, 100 Thousand Welcomes, everywhere you go. Slan Leat,(Goodbye)
