My husband and I are TTC starting this month...The dr said that it would be in our best interest to try clomid in our first months of trying to raise our chances of getting pregnant. I have had a long history of very irregular periods, 4-5 months without one at all.

Anyway, I would love to hear from people who have tried clomid...I don't want to get my hopes up to high...

  1. Sorry 3 rounds and it didn't work. But you have to remember that everyone is different. Take care

  2. Hi there.. I don't have irregular periods but I do have "unexplained infertility".  After 18mnths TTC (actively!!) I fell pregnant on my first cycle of Clomid (days 2-6 50mg).  It did dry up my CM so I would suggest you try pre-seed (a sperm friendly lubricant - I really think it made the difference).  This time around I got pregnant (3 months today) on my 2nd cycle of Clomid (same dose/days).  I have heard so many success stories with it and it truly was a miracle drug for me.  So my advice would be... take it days 2-6 unless your doc says otherwise, order some preseed and have intercourse as often as possible unless there is a male low-sperm factor (my OB/GYN said "just go for it!!").  We had intercourse 2 days before, the day of and the day after ovulation (using OPKs).  Don't worry if you don;t fall straight away.. the "average" is cycles 3-4.  Good Luck to you!!! xx

  3. im on my third round of clomid since june 08.  im hoping this month , Aug is my month.  someone in yahoo answers once told me that clomid is no miracle drug.

  4. Hi.  I took 1 round of 25 mg of Clomid after using Provera to induce a period because I hadn't had one in over 6 months.  I got pregnant with multiples on the first try (more than twins, but I prefer not to say what).  My Dr told me he had never even seen twins with Clomid so I showed him.  LOL   I have PCOS so I didn't ovulate at all.  Good luck to you!

  5. My first month of clomid was last month and it dried up my cm. It didn't work for me then, so we are trying again this month. I am going to take Robitussin with the main ingredient Guaifenesin. It helps increase the cervical mucous. You take 2 teaspoons 3 times daily starting the next day after your last clomid pill. Remember to take it at the same time every day. It is crucial that you do this. Also, fair warning, it can also cause hpt's to come up positive even if you aren't pregnant. That happened to me last month. So, don't get your hopes to high until you get your blood test. Good luck to you and hope it works.

  6. Well I had very irregular periods as well, but I went like 7-8 months without one. I started off taking Metformin. My doctor put me on that for a year 500mg three times a day, being that my husband wasn't in the states for a year.  The metformin did regulate my period though, but I still couldn't get pregnant. In June of this year, she put me on Clomid.  I started on day 5-9 of my cycle.  I conceived on June 14th.

Hopefully it works for you and your hubby.  Good Luck!
