I am starting a new food service business, I want my artist stepdaughter to create my logo with my input?

How do I approach this from a legal stand point. Is this something she would maintain ownership of? I will pay her for her work and I don't really mind if she is credited with developing the logo but I will need some legal control over the image. New at this, just curious anyone who can help answer this.

Have your stepdaughter assign all rights in the work (the logo) to you.

The safest course is to have a lawyer draw up the assignment document.  Check with legal aid in your community to find a lawyer.

If you are braver you might find an appropriate form on the internet.
