I am starting a new job on the 23rd....?

and for the first 3 months, i guess its like a probation period, they wont tax my checks... does that mean that when tax time comes around i will have to pay for that?

  1. It means you are being cheated by your employer.


  2. The company you are working for may be pulling a fast one.

    They aren't supposed to misclassify you as a contract worker for a probationary period and then change that to a W-2.

    No matter what you are responsible for taxes and your side of the fica/mc.  If your really are an employee, you can protest the situation with an SS-8 to avoid having to pay the other half of the fica/mc.

  3. Yes it does.  Any by the way, it's illegal for them to do this - if your job is as an employee, they are legally required to take out taxes from the start.
