  1. Just be yourself and try not to worry about it. You'll be fine. People will like you.

  2. At the new school when it is time for lunch or whatever just go up to people and be like "Hey, can i sit with you?" Then when you are sitting with them, just be like "Hi my name is ............. Thank you for letting me sit with you. Whats your name?" Just trying keeping up a conversation and maybe you can make friends.

I know it will be hard, I'm pretty shy too, but if you just try finding something in common with someone, most of the time you can find that you have a lot more in common then you thought. That is how i got the really good friends i have now.

I wish you the best of luck! :]

  3. Just keep calm, give yourself a boost of confidence and remind yourself that you are smart, interesting and friendly and worth getting to know. Be friendly and open to new opportunities to meet people, like joining a school club or activity. Offer to help people in the hallways if you see them struggling with something, like carrying too many books or putting up posters/annoucements, etc. Ask questions about things to do after school, where the kids hang out, which teachers are mean or nice and let people know you're new and need to get aqquainted. People are generally friendly and helpful if they know you are too. Don't let yourself get too nervous- people are bound to see that you're new and intimidated but if you let your personality shine through for them, they'll want to get to know you! Just make sure you don't focus so much on making friends that your education suffers! Good luck!

  4. The first day at a new school is always hard, just be friendly, don't be afraid to approach one of you classmates and say "hey i'm new here my name is ______" and spark up a conversation from there. Best of luck. =]

  5. be confident. and introduce yourself to people that look friendly and nice

  6. people on here will say "oh just go up and talk to some one" but obviously they forgot what school was like...my advice... look for some one that looks new or lonely to... some one who is sitting alone at lunch and sit down with them...just be like mind if i sit here and start small talk...tell the m your new...just pick the quiet people they are always nice and are most the time in the same situation you are. It will take time to make new friends don't think you can go in there over night and be buddy buddy...and about confidence some times you just have to step outside your box as hard as it is...it can be done...have fun at school let us know how it goes

  7. Private schools are a nice and safe place. You will meet many nice people, just keep it cool, stay yourself, and be out there.

  8. The beginning of school is the best time to start. Join all clubs, organizations you can or want to. Being in same proximity as others is a great start. This will then create opportunities for you to volunteer for things needed by those clubs which then brings you in proximity of more students.

  9. there will definately be other kids like you who don't know anyone there. everyone will be starting a new year, and wanting to make new friends.  talk to people.  if you're a freshman, you'll find that everyone is really open to talking to people the first month or so.  after that everyone settles into groups of friends.
