I am starting at a new high school and want to learn how to make new friends.

Question

OK. So this year I am starting at a new high school as a freshmen. I only know one person who is going there (I am going to a catholic high school). I play soccer and am trying out for the high school team. Do you have any advice about how to make new friends in this new environment?

BTW- it is a uniform only school.

Get involved in as many of the extra-curricular activities they do - it helps greatly. Sports/drama/bible classes etc...school is a great time in your life...enjoy it!!!

aww i'm sorry it's a uniform school, that really stinks!

just be yourself and don't be the "quiet new girl."

no one will want to be your friend if you are as quiet as a mouse.  be confident, smile, talk to girls that look like how you are too.

pretend that going to a new school isn't scary, but like a breeze in the park!

try not to be too timid, just go to someone's table and ask if you can sit there and i'm sure they'll let you.  if you recognize people from a lot of your classes talk to them a lot since your schedules are smiliar.
