I would like to find something sporty/convertible, but MPG is most important, secondly is used for a low price.

I have 85 miles one way...

What do you have or suggest?

  1. I'm in the same situation, I used to own a 2006 HOnda Civic Hybrid, was getting 45 MPG everywhere, but my body got tired.  You really have to floor the pedal to get up hills and pass people on the highway.

I sold it and settled on an Acura TL (260 HP, 19/29 MPG), plenty of passing power.

I think its more important to be comfortable and have passing power, and be in a heavier vehicle that way you don't get crushed if a pickup truck hits you.

  2. the Smart car is now being sold in america..its made by mercedes benz... its very small ,very safe, and very inexpensive about 12k.  i seen a few in md n.va area..

  3. I recently purchased a 2008 Honda Civic and love it.  The gas mileage is great and the car has been incredibly reliable so far.  If you're into horsepower than a civic won't float your boat, but I think it is perfectly suited for a "commuter car."

  4. the volkswagen golf
