ok when dhoni started to take away some of the senior players i was very angry...but now m starting to realise that maybe it was for better for the indian team...

some of you might say that i am asking this question because of the colombo test...I AM NOt...

the indian fielding from the seniors was also not up to sctratch in the southafrica series at home recently...the batting was also not great from the BIG 4...

dont u guys think that bringing bowles like piyush chawla and pragyan ojha will benefit the team...these two guys will keep getting older and its better to start them off at a young age...

we can also get some young batsmen in like s.badrinath,s.raina,rohit sharma etc etc....

what are ur thoughts????

thanx 4 all answers...

  1. no, it won't help, any team will not be able to cope up with these two bowlers on 4th and 5th day in Sri Lanka. The best way out is to bat first and use the pitch and then put the opposition in , when the pitch starts showing signs of spin !

do you think Dilshan, Samaraveera or Jayawardhana are better than Indian batters, i don't think so, its just they utilised the better batting conditions and exposed India to the better spin bowling conditions after pressurising with a mountain of runs on the board !

so, i would say the toss is really very crucial in this series, win the toss and bat first, apply yourself, play a game with grit and gameplan and play with the patience of opposition before declaration !

    god bless!

    great Q!

    best regards!

    star !

  2. Who are we to judge whether it was a good decision or not?? It was his personal decision!!

  3. With Sri Lanka..South Africa & Australia , he will be unavailabe .

but saying so, some of his plans would work !!

If this series is scheduled with West Indies,Bangladesh or zimbabwe ,.. then Dhoni would have gladly toured there . But as a shrewed captain, now he seeks tactical ploys too..He does not want to expose himself to new threat ,..Ajantha mendis again too soon to jeopardize his test spot . If Kumble fails ,in this tour ,then it could be easy as M.S.Dhoni's advantage to get" Test captaincy" for himself too..He does not need some rest like old guys like Dravid &Sachin. MSD is young & strong. And one may feel this is Dhoni's way of showing his worth in Indian test squad.

  4. yes i too think so that dhoni is doing right and taking right decisions

  5. No, I actually don't think so, and haven't changed my opinion so hastily. If Dhoni was right in removing all the experienced players from the team in order to accommodate the youngsters, then India wouldn't have lost in both the Kitply Cup and the Asia Cup. Ajantha Mendis crushed Dhoni's young India in the Asia Cup final. If Dhoni was right in dropping the seniors, then that wouldn't have happened. Besides, according to me, the youngsters who lack experience, and aren't technically sound wouldn't have done any better, if not worse infront of the deadly duo of Murli and Mendis. Even a player like Sangakkara has expressed how difficult it was for the Indian batsmen to face the 2 of them:

Personally, I don't think that Dhoni expelled the seniors for the benefit of the team. It was all on account of ego clashes between him and some of the seniors. If Dhoni really bothered so much about the team, then he wouldn't have opted out of the test series in Sri Lanka.

  6. what a thinking u have.. . u mean that before any difficult tour, smart decision to withdraw from it.. shame.

  7. Any change has to be gradual to be successful.  The trend of change has already started in ODI and in course of time we can expect the same trend in test cricket as well.

  8. Yes
