I am stoked after our team’s performance in Brazil – Mark Webber
The Australian driver Mark Webber scored an astonishing second place behind his teammate Sebastian Vettel to give his team the 5th 1-2 of the season. After this amazing performance by the Red Bull duo, Red Bull are now officially the 2010 constructors’
champions as they have a comfortable 48 points lead over their rivals McLaren in the constructors’ standings.
Mark Webber stated that he was “stoked” after the whole team helped the drivers secure the constructors’ title for the 2010 season. He believes that his team was definitely the best team since the beginning of the season and there is no doubt about this,
as Red Bull had the best car in every way and one has to hand it to Christian Horner and the rest of the gang for an outstanding performance throughout the season.
“At the end of the day we've beaten them fair and square. The rest can say what they want but we have the constructors at the moment and it is a very, very good achievement for the team,” said Webber.
However, the Australian driver was unable to find his way past his teammate Sebastian Vettel despite the fact that he was behind his tail throughout the Brazilian Grand Prix. Webber claims that he had an overheating engine and therefore to keep it running
until the end, he had to keep his cool and let the German driver go ahead to take the win. Something is always better than nothing and Mark did the right thing before heading to Abu Dhabi for the grand finale.
“Most of the races are decided as you know pretty much on Saturday or the first lap. In the old days you could change the strategy around change the fuel loads, look at going longer or shorter and having a bit of a play but that's not how it is now so fair
play to Seb, he drove a good race,” he added.
With just one race remaining in the 2010 season, Mark Webber is just 8 points behind the championship leader Fernando Alonso while his teammate Sebastian Vettel is just 15 points adrift.
”We had a very, very hot engine for some reason so we had to turn the engine down quite a lot and it was about really focusing on keeping Fernando out. The safety car pulled everyone back but it was a pretty straightforward grand prix and I am absolutely stoked
for the guys and girls,” said the Australian.
