  1. The battle rifle, sniper rifle, and other precision weapons are your best friends in the Halo 3 campaign, whether against Covenant or Flood.  Aim for the head of grunts, jackals, drones, and brutes; and the little infection form sticking out of the chests of combat forms.  Don't forget about your grenades and equipment; power drainers can end a battle in a heartbeat (headshots headshots headshots), and regenerators can help you outlive your hairy adversaries.  The Bubble Shield can help, but I find it to frequently trap me in certain battles.

Try to find out where all the weapons are in each campaign level.  For instance, there are two flamethrowers in Floodgate.  Also, if you happen to have a marine(s) or elite(s) fighting alongside you, give them an effective weapon.  They can also act as weapon carriers, wielding any extra guns that you might need up ahead.  They're also good as enemy distractions...

Usually it's enemy numbers that get you killed in Legendary.  If you're just trying to get through a level, take enemies down one-by-one and stay back.  Try killing the smaller, weaker enemies before focusing on the leader (or the opposite if you want).  Because Brutes now have regenerating shield armor, taking pot shots at one is useless unless you've already managed to take out it's shields.  Use cover; if you don't have any, make your own (equipment).  And unless you're behind cover, you should always move.  Most people make the mistake of only moving forward and backward.  Instead, strafe from side to side.  Don't go in one direction for too long however, otherwise the improved Halo 3 AI will anticipate your movements.

These are just general rules of engagement for Halo 3.  If it's specific campaign strategies you want, there are plenty on Youtube and other video hosting sites.  Normally though, I don't like following walkthroughs to get through games and problems, I like solving them myself.  On a different note, good luck beating the game on Legendary!

  2. It is a lot easier to do if you have 2 people or even 2 controllers, have one person stay back as a respawn and continue to take down all the enemies, once you clear a room, keep going and continue to do this until you complete the level, i used another controller with nobody playing and beat most of the missions in an hour or less
