Will they help replenish the good bacteria or is it pointless. Will the antibiotic kill all of the probiotic I take?

  1. definitely take them to avoid thrush....

  2. By all means. You must take them if you taking such strong antibiotics from the tetracycline family. The one which perform the best is the" Lactobacillus reuteri" 100 million organisms per pill. It is resistant  to the strenght of the antibiotic and keeps your gut micro-flora in good nick. The Australian version is called "Forbiotic", made by Blackmores company. For the benefit of "Scorpion", the Kefir version is good in normal times, but with antibiotic use it's useless.

  3. YES!!!!!! YOU MUST!!! Your doc SHOULD have told you to do so!!! If you don't you run the risk of inflammation of the illiocycle (sp? ) valve and will be in pain!!!  You also run the risk of Candida since your good bacteria keeps candida in check!!

      Take the pro- every day!!

I made the mistake of not taking enough when i was on doxy and was hurting for a couple of weeks and sucking down pro-biotics!!!

Metagenics puts out a good pro... and florastor is another good one!!!!!!!!!

Many docs. are negligent in not telling the side effects or problems with meds!!!

  4. Yes, preferably after the antibiotics, maybe an hour or two, since it will be a waste otherwise. FiveLac is the best probiotic on the market, but expensive.

You don't really need to buy {expensive} probiotics, just get your hands on some Kefir Grains, and make Kefir at home. This is a probiotic drink, superior to any supplement, and its free, and a single kefir grain will last you a life time, as long as you live.

Look into Dom's Kefir Making wesbite, or the yahoo kefir making group.

    Best of luck.
