    Research methods are how you collected data or gathered information for marketing purposes.  Examples are web search, mail survey, focus group, telephone discussion with customers, etc.

    A proposal is any document which describes your plan for a marketing related business activity.  It could be a proposal for an advertising campaign, web site, or research survey.

    A source is a very general term for the person, organization or document from which you received marketing information, ideas or materials.  It could be a paid consultant, an advertising agency or an internet article.  (If you provided additional context for what you mean by "source" I could give more detail.)
