I am taking a road trip from Central VA to Atlanta on a Friday afternoon around 12:00 pm.

The directions say it takes about 8 hours. Does anyone know if I will be hitting a lot of traffic in NC, SC or GA?

  1. yes, you will,,, just think about it and see where you will be between in your trip say along about  3:00 to 6:00.  85 coming into Atlanta will be heavy as it is Friday night,,, not packed coming in, but heavy.

    Traveling from Richmond on 85 or out of the valley on 81 and 77 to 85, you will find some heavy traffic between Charlotte and Greensville.

    8 hours is a good average time though from southside Richmond to northside Atlanta around spaghetti junction
