I am taking my CBT bike test next week, what should i expect? 1st answer gets best answer!!?

Hi!

I am 16 years old and i am taking my CBT to ride a 50cc scooter next week.

A little nervous at the moment.

Some people have said that its not really a test, more of a training day.

Please answer these questions if you can =]

1. Will they test my knowledge on road signs?

2. Will they actually take me out on the road or do i stay in their base?

3. Should i be worried??

4. What questions wil they ask me?

Also there is 1 more question i am not quite sure about.

Do i have a theory test as well as a practical test?

If so should they be on the same day?

your knowledge test was when you got your permit.  if you don't have the permit, you'll need that first.  after you've been riding for a while, go for your license test.  they basically make you go through cones in the parking lot.

1.. No, they wont test you on anything. Like you said - you are being trained NOT tested.

2.. Yes you will be taken out on the road for around 2 - 4hrs depending on the test center.

3.. No, there's nothing to be worried about. Everything is very straight forward and easy.

4.. The only things you may be asked are things that you have discussed on the day with the trainer, but you probably wont be asked any questions at all.

Yes you have to take a theory as well as a practical test. You have to take the theory before the practical. Its best to take the theory a few weeks before the practical.

If you are taking the UK cbt then no do not worry. The instructors will have some classroom time with you before you go out on the bikes and they will explain everything to you. You will learn and practice control of the bike on private ground so you have no need to worry about traffic. If you are deemed good enough your instructor will then take you out on the road to see if you are safe enough to ride your machine. There is no "fail" of a CBT, but the instructor will only issue you with one when he is satisfied that you can ride competently and safely.

The theory test has to be taken for your full license not your CBT.

Relax and enjoy the day, if you require more time on the bike before your CBT is issued your instructor will tell you.
