I am taking the wife to paris for a romantic weekend......?

i need to find a really nice and romantic resturant, in the centre of Paris, we went a couple of years ago and did the river thing but want something nicer. Does anybody have any recommendations and web addresses that i can look at please.

there are some nice ones in Odeon, if you walk toward the eiffel tower.

ohhh lucky wife.  I would google it and spend a good hour or so looking.  You will find maps , pictures and reviews on them.

Opposite the Gare du Nord there is a very good resturant- The Terminus Nord on Rue Dunkerque. It has great decor and atmosphere, typically high class Parisien. Not at all cheap.

Avoid going an hour or so before Eurostar leaves. Passengers come in for a single course before getting the train. This is fine, but the place deserves to be savoured and enjoyed without having to keep and eye on the clock.

Another I would strongly recommend is Le Durer at 19 rue Yvonne le Tac by Abbesses Metro. This is a friendly, cosy place, frequented by french and tourists alike. It is reasonably priced too. We have been here many times.

How about watching Amelie before you go and checking out the venues in the film. The Cafe Deux Moulins is still going strong.

i live there so i do know some places but the top i think is in the 16th

La Table- Joel Robuchon... it has a 5 star rating and its good

(cheaper)

the best though is:

Le Jules Verne- its the restaurant IN the eiffel tower. my dad and mum went and said it was great food. tom cruise proposed their. and its looks great!

(more expensive, reserve a while earlier)

Yes - Le Grand Colbert.  Gorgeous restaurant - where they filmed some of Ocean's 11. It's been a couple of years since I ate there, but I remember it well - really good food, a little pricey but worth it as a treat.
