We are a lovely little bungerlow and hold 12 children. The owner has put her heart into it. We have built up very slowly but have never really marketed it where should we start

  1. Find groups such as Las Madres that many mothers would belong.

Have events such as story telling, spaghetti feed or a "carnival" to invite people to...don't charge so that many people will come and once they are in then show them what a great place it can be.  Even if they don't end up sending their child, they willbe ready to tell others about the great experience they had.

  2. advertise in every place you go into. I am a Pure Romance consultant and have been trained in Marketing. Get business cards of print up professional looking flyers telling what your business is about. Pass them out EVERYWHERE since most everyone has children. Leave them behind in laundromats, nail places, tanning places, grocery stores ect. Get a decal for the car with contact info. There is plenty of ways to advertise a business. Offer incentives for people, allow them to come in and check it out. If they see and ad of yours, tell them if they bring the add in they will receive ??% off the first month ect. Good luck.

  3. you need to advetsie it in the local paper

and maybe online - maybe have an open day for people to come look around -bring their kids see what its like

  4. Hang up posters, fliers. Give out a certificate to get one day free, so families can see if this is the right center for them. Go door to door so people know it is a center and not just a bungalow. Let people know you are there

  5. well, as a mom what would make your place appealing to me is the certification of your employees and hopefully some basic education, like schooling other than just babysitting. a lot of daycares throw kids in a room and just let them do whatever the whole day and while they're learning social skills, they should probably be adressing some basics too...if you do this already i would advertise it. let parents know that you have story time, or that you introduce children to shapes, colors, and maybe other languages or cultures.

    hope it helps, good luck

  6. If you are a licensed provider go to the nearest agancy and have them put you down on their list they ahve alot of contacts

  7. Is it well decorated. Do you have childrens artwork on display and are proud? I think that the answer would prob be yes. Have a family fun day. Do a letter box drops in the neighbourhood inviting people to join you for your fun day, Have free activities for children no need to be expensive, just painting, ball games, dancing, offer food and drinks at cost price. Most of all have fun.

  8. advertise-advertise-advertise-im sure its a wonderful place but you have to sell it to people-good luck

put adverts everywhere-your local ante natal clinics is a good one as well as your local paper

  9. Try fliers and try to ask the people that already come in and tell them to spread the word!! ALso put up a sign in frount of you building saying cheep!! or something like that.

  10. When I took over my pre-school there were only 6 children on the role we now have over 50.  You absolute best way of advertising is word of mouth by parents so ask them to recommend you to their friends.  Make up leaflets and do a leaflet drop in the local area (we got 6 new children the first time we did this and that would be 50% of your children).  I often go to the local school we feed into and leaflet the parents of children in buggies to at least get their name down on the waiting list.  Advertise at your local school too also at the local library and make sure all clinics and drs in the area have your details.  Invite the local Health Visitors to your setting and give them prospectuses to take away and give to parents.  Your local council will have a website to advertise child care on and contact your EYDCP because they will have a list they can send out to too.

Good luck you will do it if you do some enticing leaflets

  11. You should add an advert in your local paper, get a website and hopefuly you will get some children.

Have you tried making t-shirts and badges to make everything look profesional ??

Im sure its very nice x

  12. I would start advertising in a small way - Make your own business card, leaflets and put in letter boxes, pin up at libraries, churches etc.  Get a good HP going (look at the number of questions asking for good sites, parents seem to spend more time on the computer than with their kids!).  Local newspaper ads are very cheap and local people read it...that's a start.  Good luck

  13. Have you tried your local newspaper, radio, flyers ect

  14. Do you have a local mother's club?  Every year, mine has a preschool fair and that'd be a great place to start.  Advertise in the mother's club newsletter.

Word of mouth is a great tool.

Offer an incentive for the current members - say, a one-time discount for referral that joins, etc.

Get a "cling" for your car!

  15. The best advertisement is word of mouth. Maybe you could offer your current students a month discount for referring a new child to your daycare. Also offering a quality daycare will pay off in time. Make sure you hire quality educated teachers and continue with their education by taking classes.

  16. I own  a nursery and one way to get lots of business is to go around local schools which offer half day early years funded sessions, as working parents often need full days, you could offer your services to provide wrap around care to children who have 2.5 hour sessions. We pick up and drop off children at our local school and it works very well - word will soon get round, and people who just fancy having a whole day to themselves rather than just 2.5 hours, which is such a tiny amount, will start to use you. Great if it's walking distance anyways.

    Good luck.

  17. Have a garden party, advertise in local shops and the local papers. Make it a fun day for children with stalls and games.

Another idea is a leaflet drop in the surrounding areas.

    Posters in the local schools.

    Open days

  18. Put in Ad in the local paper - that is usually pretty inexpensive, gets more costly the bigger the Ad and the longer it runs.

Also, check out local churches, schools and stores and see if they would allow you to post flyer's on the bulletin boards.

I would create a simple website too - even if its just one page with basic info on it.  This way people can google day care in your community and your website may come up!

  19. I've just started my own business in child care.

Contact your local child care services, council and local mum's and tot's groups.

Get your local freebie paper to come and take some pictures and do a small spread.

Also get some leaflets printed, take them to doctors surgery's, health visitors and hair dressers.

Get the kids to design a logo if you don't have one and get t-shirts printed for uniforms,

    GOOD LUCK x

  20. Your nursery is like a business. Advertise - get some expertise on how you can persuade parents to come to you. Get involved in voluntary work.

Advertise - get the word around etc.

    Good luck

  21. You need to put some adverts in the local area even in the local docters surgery.

Also see if you can recieve any help from your local authority.

  22. advertise in your local newspaer or hold an event there where people from the local community are welcomed, this will get you known!!!

  23. Hi Seems like you need to advertise the business.

Get an article in the local press or on the radio-

You may get some free advertising if you are intending to do something for charity such as a sponsored toddle.

You could also advertise in doctors surgery's, Dentists hospitals anywhere where you have a captive audience and there are people waiting such as the previously mentioned places.

ASk the current parents to recommend you to their friends or their work.

If you can afford it give them an incentive of one free week or a discount if anyone they recommend starts at teh nursery.

    Good luck
