I am the one who made the yahoo.group site. Does it mean that I am the owner?

If I am the owner of the yahoo.group.. Is it possible to assign a co- moderator? Thank You.

  1. It means that you are the gatekeeper for all communication and access to the group. If you assign the role to another individual, you will no longer hold that status as owner. You are the captain of a small ship until you decide to appoint a new captain to fullfill your former role. Obviously, yahoo has super executive authority over the ownership interest of your group, determine the community guidelines, and enforcer of these guidelines.


  2. that means you are the owner, with full group privileges, where as moderators, you the owner choose their group privileges there is 9 of them- which you would be wise to not give certain privs like deleting the group

    ** you will always be the owner of the group, even if you appoint another to be owner you then both have full privs (I would not recommend this unless you fully know another to have a co-owner. a co-owner can demote you to member) adding a moderator does not affect you owner status either.

    the ONLY thing that effects you being owner is leaving he group

    From the list on the left, click Members and locate the member on the Members page.

    Click Edit Membership.

    A little way down, click Change to Moderator.

    Click on the Make Moderator button to confirm.
