I am wondering what the average server in casual and fine dinning can actually expect to make. I have a good bit of serving and bartending experience along with a very brief stint as bar manager but my experience is now two years ago as i have been working in a factory and now realize I waas much happier in hospitality and now wish to persure that as a career and eventually get back into restaurant management. I am assuming I will have to start at the bottom and serve for a couple years before hopefully working my way into management.

  1. Louisville has a very vibrant restaurant and bar scene, and I don't think you will have many problems finding work there.

This link provides a good insight into the Louisville scene:

Salaries are variable as to the location and hours worked.  I would expect in that market to be able to make from $25-30 k your first year, though.

Hope this helps, and the best of luck to you.
