  1. It depends on your country of origin.  You may need a visa, and she may need to send you a letter of invitation.  You will need to show the immigration officials that you have connections of family and/or employment at home and that you do not intend to stay in Canada.  If you are flying you will need a passport for sure.  If you are a US citizen and driving all you will need is your government issued photo ID such as your driver's license and your birth certificate to prove citizenship.  You wont't need a visa if you are a US citizen.

Check out the links the previous poster gave you.  They will give you all the information you need.  Best of luck.

  2. If you are an American citizen, and you are asking what form of I.D. you need...if you are flying, you need a passport.  If you are travelling by land, you need a photo I.D. and a proof of citizenship...your birth certificate.  See site below for the current info.  You do not need a visa ( 2nd site).  If you are from any other country, you will need a passport, and you may also need a visa.  You can use the 3d website, enter your nationality and destination and click for the info to see if you need a visa.
