well the entire LA basin is huge

do you mean a city (like Santa Monica which you can get to withn 30-40mintues? (or do you mean a commuity like

Hollywood (which is part of Los Angeles?)

or do you mean a city outside of the Los Angeles area?

(like San Bernadino?)

with traffic in L.A. you can't get anywhere in 30 min.

LA is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the US.  Driving clear across the entire LA basin could easily take 3 hours in traffic.  You need to specify where in LA you are working for us to be able to help.
