  1. Fullerton in Orange County, 30 mins south of LA. Its really close to 'Disney' and' Knots Berry Farm' too.

    Its a lovely neighbour hood.

The beach is only 15 mins away too..perfecto!

  2. HA!

You can't get a place like that, prices of homes are way too expensive.....3000 sf homes are still selling for more than $700,000. Now is a very bad time to buy.

The best prices would be in the Inland Empire, but you would have to drive 1.5 to 2 hours or more for that. (And that's with no traffic of the 91 fwy)

  4. Nothing in LA is cheap nor close together. You'll spend tons of time on the freeway even if you don't want to because everything is so spread out.

  5. I hate to tell you this, but Southern California is really expensive no matter where you live. Even the least desirable neighborhoods have fairly high rent and expensive homes (by national standards).

Your best bet is to look online for a place that you can share. Try looking on Craigslist.org.

  6. There is no such thing as living 30 minutes from L.A. I would not recommend living in East or South Los Angeles, they're pretty unsafe. You want to try West Los Angeles and immediate surrounding cities like Santa Monica, Culver City, or West Hollywood which are all within minutes of L.A. f you go any farther then you'll have to commute by freeway. Everything per mile is pretty close but when you take into account traffic and the number of people living there the minutes add up.

You can work 7 miles away, a 10-15 minute drive but it will take you about an hour to get home.

    good luck

  7. There really is no such thing.  WIth traffic I find the commute from the valley to West L.A. takes over an hour sometimes.  If you are coming to L.A. to work in the entertainment industry wait until after the strike is settled.  Its a hard place to live if you don't have friends here already.

  8. If you are moving to So Cal. The least expensive areas to live are on the east side of LA.

It's known as the Inland empire. The west side of LA is more like the LA portrayed on T.V. the pace of live on the eastern side is a little more conservative but less expensive.
