  1. Start by walking through 8mile with chest poked out and head real high.

  2. MMA is jiu jitsu - with some punches and kicks thrown in for good measure - so they can call it MMA - don't get me wrong, it's very impressive, as each art is. They are extremely fit and have great endurance and ability to hold a position until the muscles of their oponent gives and they can close the gap. Their thing is "all fights end up on the ground" - only if you're the one taken down - or knocked down. The majority of techniques are jiu jitsu -

  3. mma is alot more than jujutsu with a few strikes and kicks. and there is such a thing as taking/studying mma.

it is a combined knowledge of 3 basic ranges of fighting....standup, clinch, and groundwork.

it is an ongoing study of arts including but not limited to boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, wrestling, brazilian jujutsu, judo, sambo...etc.

its a "way" of training. not just a sport.

its easy to say theres no such thing as mma...but its untrue. infact theyre all mixed...even traditional arts are mixed.

some of the young fighters coming up today are not jujutsu fighters who train with kickboxers and wrestlers on the side. they're not boxers who learn a little brazilian jujutsu so they can fight on the ground. no...they are mma from day one. mma through and through.

though mma is not a set art...with a set curriculum. it is an art unto itsself nonetheless.

  4. first off, you can't take MMA. You can take martial arts, wrestling, boxing, but there is no such thing. Second I wouldn't recommend it for someone who's user name is #1 John Cena Fan.
