I am thinking of buying a 1985 Honda Odyssey buggy but before I do.?

Before I do I was wondering if it might be possible to install 4 wheel drive.I don't want it to be full time 4 wheel drive. Just for those sticky situations where all for wheels would really help. Any body have any experience with these machines. Is 4 wheel drive even needed? Are they fun? How tuff are they? How do they perform on tight rocky trails? I live in Tennessee and we have really good and challenging trails but we also have alot of hills and rocks. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

  1. It's been a long time since I've driven one, it was about a 1981 vintage. The Odyssey is a belt drive that uses a variable pulley that acts like a CVT transmission. There's really no way to convert to all wheel drive other than rebuilding the entire thing from the ground up in which you'd be better off to just start from scratch. They are a lot of fun to drive.

Downsides: The belt can slip when wet. Not great on really steep hills. No reverse.
