  1. How many more miles you can get out of a car mostly depends on how well taken care of it was, not what brand/model it is. That being said, Civics are generally good cars, and if the previous owner kept up with maintenance it should give you another 100,000. But it's probably only worth about $2,500. $4,000 is high.

  2. No it's not a good buy unless your a mechanic and know how to replace engines this is not a good buy. Id only pay 1500 for that car it is only gonna last for another 50k-100k

  3. For a car of that age it really depends on the condition of the body, paint, interior, brakes, tires, powertrain of course, air conditioning. According to NADA the average retail value of a '96 Civic can range from $3525 to $4500 depending upon which trim level the car happens to be such as lx, dx, ex etc. Personally I wouldn't want to pay $4000 for a thirteen year old car with 154,000 miles. Hondas are really good cars, but I think that's too much.

  4. NO! not for $4,000. that is a reasonable amount of miles but not worth that amount

  5. I have some ocean front property to sell you in Kansas.

For that many miles I wouldn't go over $1k.
