It is a dell optiplex sx270 with a p4 2.8ghz processor. It has 1.0GB RAM and a 75GB hard drive. I want to play games like warcraft 3 and the first counterstrike... will this cpu be able to handle it? P.S. I don't care about graphics.

  1. I have a computer that has 1.0 GB RAM. I can't play games on it because there is too much lag. Instead get an Acer AM5100-U5302A. It has 2.0 GB RAM and 500 GB HDD so you can store plenty of games on it.

  2. Go to several reliable name stores in your area and price them out. Do not settle for the first one because the salesperson is nice.

  3. get a acer

  4. arent you on a computer???lol  hahahahahahahahahha

  5. sounds like you'll be fine, but as a big counterstrike player i am, i would care about graphics if i was you

  6. e-machine this are very fast computers! but if you are planning on filling your computer with a bunch of junk and you want your computer to still run as fast as if you just bought it get a dell ins. or get a mac those are very good if you have a lot of files stored on your computer..

but if your not looking to store a bunch of files, and just using your computer for everyday things, just buy the newest e-machine. these are very cheap and very good for everyday life computer use.

    hope i helped!

  7. It will be able to handle those games fine.

Consider getting a bigger harddrive and more memory. If it runs Vista you need more than 1 Gb do have it running smoothly.

    Ask them to install XP.

  8. If you want to play games like those, you will definitely need to get a better system. Dell Optiplex is a line of computers made specifically for Small Businesses, not for gaming. And in order to run those games, you must have a proper graphics card. It doesn't matter if you care or don't care about graphics, you will need a graphics card. The CPU is a Intel P4, that is very outdated, try looking at something more recent. I suggest finding a computer with a Core 2 Duo processor with at least 1.83-2.0GHz, at least 2GB-3GB of RAM for running Vista, at least a 160GB hard drive, a graphics card with at least 256MB of GDDR2 memory.

  9. Yes, this machine will do very well at running older games like Warcraft III and the original Counterstrike, but it won't handle anything much newer than that. I definitely wouldn't pay more than $200-$300 for it.

  10. No. This IS NOT ideal for gaming. You want atleast 2gigs of RAM.

And grafix is an important thing. it runs yur game faster.
