I am thinking of buying a microsoft refurbished Xbox 360 and I am wondering what acessories I need.?

Look guys, I need a little advice here. The system comes with all the normal stuff a brand new 360 comes with. I am getting Halo 3, Xbox live, cooling system. My major concern is I am wondering if the cooling system is necessary.

*P.S.- Is there any way I can use a normal every day house fan to cool the system?

My advice is to buy a new one.  You will be sure that you are getting a 360 that works.  Plus one controller and the Forza game.  Sure it will cost a little more, but it's definetley worth it, with the three year extended warranty that Microsoft offers.  Then get another controller and some fun games, oh and live of course.

DON'T get the cooling system. It is NOT neccessary. it can actually make your cosole overheat faster, because of the power it takes to run it.

yes get a small Fan and turn it on low and point it at your xbox. But only when your playing it. Also get a couple of CD cases and put it on top of those on the outside edges, to improve the airflow around the bottom.

I don't use any cooling fans and our Xbox is fine.

get another controller, live, call of duty 4 and you dont need the cooling system. and dont use a fan. my old xbox broke because i put a fan on it. when i took it apart to see what happened i noticed that the fan pushed a TON of dust into the inside. and plus i play my xbox for sometimes 4 hours straight and never have an overheating problem. o and dont forget the headset for xbox live
