  1. Hi,

If you use a PC monitor instead of a TV, you'll almost certainly get a display with a higher resolution at a cheaper price.

However, you will be limited by size - the largest PC monitors are around 30", and most are much smaller.

A TV screen is designed for viewing from a distance, so the resolution is lower but the screen is bigger.

The other thing to check if you are watching fast moving images like sports is response time. Most TVs and most monitors have a response time of 8 miliseconds, but it would pay to check!

  2. <laughs> You'll be CRYING in your beer when you FINALLY get sound out of it....

And the Picture will look like Krap coming out of a LOW DEF VCR or any tuner like that....

You think they have invented FREE TV yet? Or do you think you'll be stuck with Cable forever.....

The ONE problem with a PC MONITOR is that it's designed to run with a PC video card....not a CABLE TV box.

So....how do you INTERFACE it properly, when it outputs 1080, and most Monitors do 1680 x 1050 for a Cheap price and a Helluva lot more when you move to the proper 1080 x 1920 size? Like $500 on up price-wise....

You can try that $300 22 inch monitor.....

Or you can try that $500  1080 monitor that's 22 inch....

OR you can Try a Real TV for a little more....and be guaranteed to work in all situations...

Like the DAY you find you can't afford cable and have to live with local sports for a few months while you pay off bills.....

Boy will you be CRYING if you go the route you want to take....
