  1. Pros:

    - Good mileage

    - Relatively safe for such a small car

    - Inexpensive to purchase.

    Cons:

    - Worst warranty of any new car (2 years 24K miles)

    - Lots of little things go wrong with them.

    - Made by Daimler required for US safety and emissions, so reliability is a huge concern.

    - Not much cargo room

    - A fad that could go away leaving you with a really ugly car.

    - 6-9 month waiting list just to get one unless you want to overpay on ebay.

I'd rather have a base Mini Cooper.

  2. Cant think of any plus for owning such a silly article.

    But pretty useless for;

    Shopping,

    Carting Friends / family around

    Taking rubbish to the tip

    Crashing in to things

Lorries crashing in to you from behind

    Improving your street cred

    Most things in fact.

  3. hey so i am in the same situation here ive been thinking about getting one and i know some people dont like them because theyre small but i think thats a plus because it would make it easier to find parking and also theyre safe so im pretty sure im gonna get one and theyre becoming popular here in the u.s. so i would say go for it!

  4. if you never take friends get one. if you get one and take a friend thats the last you will see of that friend.

  5. Its real fun to drive it. I love the new smart cars. I bought one from the smart car dealer at Edinburgh

  6. cheap to run

    the worst handling car ever

  7. I have two that we run for business purposes.  We get 60mpg on a bad day and 70mpg on a run is you're light with the right foot.  A new set of tyres cost £98 for all four with disposal of the old tyres and wheel balancing and a major service is around £200.  You can park nose or tail in to a lay by and you can put your livery on them to advertise your business.  Vehicle Excise Duty is currently £35.00 per year and is set to drop to £30.00 next year.  While they aren't sports cars they do get you from A to B and they are reliable and one of ours is a convertible which is great.  I wouldn't like to get in one and drive from Aberdeen to London but for around town and getting to and from the office they are good.

If you want performance and style buy an Aston, Porsche, Ferrari, Zonda etc.

  8. They are great. A fun car to drive, cheap to run , low insurance and if you are worried about safety, see the test on "You Tube" they are virtually indestructible. Go for it! P.S.

    They handle quite well!

  9. Plus side:

If there's a row of cars instead of pulling in and parking vertically you can park horizontally. LOL

    Also, they're fairly cheap.

    They look really cool!!

They're fairly cheap to run for these days anyway.

    Negatives:

    Lack of space

    And that's all I can think of LOL :) :) :)

Smart cars are great cars XD

As you can probably tell I have one myself. :)

  10. They are very economical, cheap to run and insure. The performance is quite lively at urban speeds. You should get a "Passion" model which has the fully automatic gearbox & air conditioning. An ideal city car.

Downsides; The gearbox takes a bit of getting used to; the car doesn't start to creep when you take your foot of the brake like most automatics. There are only two seats although they are wide and comfortable.Luggage space is OK for shopping but not for big suitcases.

The steering is light at parking speed, but a bit too light at motorway speed.

Mine is a 2005 model so the latest one may be slightly different.

  11. one minus is you look ridiculous in them
