i need a new graphics card I've decided i really want to play the latest games on my pc. i have found a graphics card, the nVidia GeForce 8800 GT. wud this be capale of handling crysis?

Here is a little of my computers spec:

1.25GB DDR2 RAM

Windows XP Home Sp3

2.83GHZ Intel pentium D

and the grafix card's spec:

Stream Processors 112

Core Clock (MHz) 600 MHz

Shader Clock (MHz) 1500 MHz

Memory Clock (MHz) 900 MHz

Memory Amount 512MB

Memory Interface 256-bit

Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 57.6

Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) 33.6

is tht capable of crysis?

  1. that GPU will play crysis at very playable frame rates.

    however ur hardware might bottleneck the GPU and force it to run games and other applications slower.

    1.25GB memory is really odd.

    try an get atleast 2GB working in dual channel mode.

    and the 2.83GHZ Processor might also slow down the card.

    and the 8800GT also requires quite a lot of power.

    if u are not planning to upgrade ur memory, cpu or power supply your money would be better spent on a cheaper card. Possibly the 8600GT or the 9500GT.

    those cards will probably run Crysis at the same frame rates as the 8800GT with your hardware.
