can you flight from usa to cariben with a private pilot license, and how difficul is to get commecial license

  1. Yes, you can fly to the Caribbean and Canada from the USA with a PPL. Make sure you have your passport and file a flight plan. When entering the USA and Canada you need to notify customs before you leave and perhaps in the Caribbean depending on what country/port you are arriving at.

    I thought it was easier to get a Commerical than a Private.


  2. Hi: I am a commercial pilot and when i was only a private i flew from canada to the U.S, caribbean and the UK with no problems.

    You will require an instrument rating to cross the Atlantic on the northern route to the UK.

    A commercial ticket is usually obtained after you get an instrument ticket and requires another ground school, flight test etc. but is not difficult to obtain. You also need a class one medical for a commercial ticket.

  3. I don't know too much about flying in to Caribbean islands but people fly from USA to Canada all the time (with private pilot license).
