I am thinking of going to S Africa on hols - what time of year is best and where should I visit?

If you like heat, go in summer (over 30°C - don't know Fahrenheit) - September through March.

If you like cooler weather, be prepared for rain - April through August.

Johannesburg and Capetown are both well worth visiting, my friend tells me. She lives there and wants me to visit but finances won't allow it - someday though, in their winter!

October to february is the best as stated and the best places include cape town, Kruger national park if you like wild life, Natals south coast is always a good way to go and lets not forget oribi gorge in Natal, its breath-taking and smialar to the Grand canyon

I actually enjoy going there in November and December.. I enjoy the rain, and the hot humid weather.. It is very enjoyable, (it is their summer)
