I am thinking of purchasing a computer. I would either like a cheap laptop that has Microsoft word and internet access, or a Monitor and Cpu Tower bundle. (I don't want to buy the monitor and tower seperatly)

  1. get an asus ee pc it comes with linux xandros but you install microsoft xp also it has openoffice witch is the same thing as microsoft office it come with a word processor a presentation maker and a spread sheat maker and its only 300 $ at its cheapest.

  2. Microsoft word is expensive, and doesn't come with Windows.

Buy a laptop, then install Open Office. Open office is really good, I find it much easier to use, making documents with tables and images in them - they tend not to jump around and do weird things the way they do in MS Office! I have Open office to do Powerpoint presentations, Word documents, Spreadsheets (like Excel) and .... it's free.

Best option is to buy a monitor/tower if that's good for you. When it's old (3 years or so) you don't need to buy a new monitor, and you can easily take out the Hard Disks and put them into a new computer that will cost (with no monitor) half the price.

With a laptop, when it's done, you have to throw the whole thing away!

  3. HP or Dell
