I am thinking of purchasing some bicycle jerseys from the U.K. - will I have to pay duty charges in the U.S.?

  1. If you're ordering online, no you won't have to pay a duty.  Royal Post will get it here quickly, too.  I've ordered several times from Chain Reaction Cycles and had them ship it to the states.  

    You shouldn't have to pay a duty on those if you were bringing them into the country on a flight, either, but if that's the case I'd call the customs office to be sure.


  2. Are you ordering them through the mail or bringing them back directly?  If they are being mailed, I'm pretty sure they have to put a customs declaration on the package, but I'd call the US post office and ask them how it works.

  3. if you bring them back you might have to pay a duty on them. if you orderd them online you will be fine, it just may take them a while to get a U.S postal tracing number.

    last year i ordered a bluetooth from japan, i had a japenese tracking number then the date it hit the US system and number...
