  1. marseille and lyon are great but they're not in languedoc, far from it!!!!

other than that, yeah anywhere that's near an airport will be ok, as long as you're working from home.

marseille is lovely and sunny and house prices are reasonable, there are plenty of small towns around that are near the airport too.

    good luck!

  2. with the cheap airlines why not go for down south Nice is fab and you are not far from places like st tropez, monaco and cannes. if you dont fancy that far then the limits are around paris because you need to be close to a low cost airport

  3. Guy at my work commutes from central massif area.

    Housing very inexpensive there.

  4. This only works if you have access to low cost flights.

Ryanair has direct flights Dublin to Biarritz, Carcassonne, Grenoble, La Rochelle, Marseille, Nantes, Paris Beauvais, Girona*

    EasyJet doesn't fly from Dublin

Aer Lingus (now much cheaper than previously) has direct flights Dublin to Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Rennes, Toulouse

*Girona is in Spain, but only 60km from French border.

Flight routes change frequently, and not all routes operate in winter, or even every day.

The best solution is to locate yourself in an area with a choice of airports / carriers to increase flexibility.

Perhaps East Languedoc offers the best choice. There are flights from Marseille, Carcassone, Toulouse, Lyon and Girona within reach. There are also services by more expensive major carriers to Dublin, if needed.
