It's definitely a scam, think about it, if it wasn't everyone would be doing it.  The only way you can make money from data entry at home without any catches is if you become an employee of a local company who will then allow you to do a lot of the work from home, and that will be a highly competed for position.  If you want to find out more just enter 'data entry scam' in a search engine and a lot of critical reports and discussions will come up, you'll find 1,280,000 entries which should be enough to convice you that there is something not quite legit or profitable here.

Beware, when you ask questions like this you attract a lot of spammers, do your research and make up your own mind.

Also be very cautious about websites that apparently tell you how to avoid scams but are actually fronts for either promoting their own scams or accepting a lot of scam advertising.  There's no 'easy money' on the internet, all 'opportunities' are fallaciously promoted and there are considerable hidden financial risks to you that they do not tell you about.

There are some reviews here about data entry scams, take some of them with a pince of salt because some of the 'reviewers' may be spammers themselves as it's a pretty 'free for all' site, but if you search it with the word 'scam' after what you are looking for you can come up with some interesting personal experiences.
