  1. I think it is a fantastic idea.  My wife and I have been on 14 cruises together and we love them.  There is lots to do on the ship-swim, dance, take classes, listen to music, see shows, go to the movies, take a walk, and so on.

As far as where to go it depends where you live.  If you live in North America there are cruises leaving from Ft Luderdale, Tampa, Miami, Galveston, San Diego, Los Angeles and so on.

As far as cruise lines we recommend Celebrity, Princess and Royal Caribbean.

If your budget can afford we highly recommend a cabin with a balcony.  Nothing like sitting on your balcony watching the world go by.  I hope this helps.  Have a great time.

  2. Good for you!  We have been on lots of cruises.  My favorite cruise line is Royal Caribbean.  Princess is nice also and Disney.  We did not enjoy our NCL cruise - so I wouldn't recommend that line.

Go somewhere warm for your first cruise so you can enjoy the pools and the entire ship.

  3. Alaska in September was spectacular!  i went on princess which wasn't the nicest ship ever but it was cheap and the food was good.  amazing scenery and very convenient way to get to see Alaska which most people will never have the opportunity to do.  End of Sept. is the end of the Alaska cruise season and you can get a good deal.

  4. worked every well for my husband, he took me on one for our 15th to Nassau. Warning it is addicting we are up to our 3rd already in  2 years.  Just got back from a 7 day to Key west, Cozumel, Progresso, and Nassau.

In the end anyplace is good, and any ship is good.  We love Carnival.

the only thing go for at least 5 days the others are not long enough!!!

  5. i would recommend royal caribbean, princess, holland america, celebrity cruiselines.

you need to do some research on which areas you might like to travel. I 've heard the mediteranean is really nice.  The carribean is popular as well as some european sailings.

  6. Cruises are a whole lot of fun!  Your wife should be very pleased to know her husband is considering one of the top vacation ideas today.

We just got back from a couple of them and it's well worth the money.. no matter what cruise line or destination you pick.

Research your ports of call and be ready to disembark the ship and explore the stop of the day early.  There is always so much to do on and off the ship.

My tips... bring a nice suit and dress for formal night.  Depending on the length of the cruise, it could be more than one night.  ALWAYS read your news sheet they drop off the night before, so that you can plan your day accordingly.  Be adventurous!  Join the dance or yoga class, go to the shows, sample the food in all the restaurants and RELAX!!!

You will have the time of your life.  Just don't forget the sunblock, a good book and a backpack for your off ship excursions.  And check with the cruise line on alcohol.  Most ships allow you to bring on 1 bottle of wine or champagne per adult.  NO LIQUOR is allowed.  It will cut down on your liquor bill for a few nights at least.  And be sure to mention to the staff that it is your anniversary.

Have a great trip and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

  7. Great Idea

I've talked with several people and they all loved cruising.  I've heard positive things with the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Hawaiian Cruise.

Cruises stop at different places along their route, so pick the places you'd like to see.

But I've heard never get a room without a view of the ocean, or else ocean sickness will be more prominent.

  8. I'd go on a Mediterranean (spelt correct?) because its a lot calmer than the oceans...and its warm all year round. with the med i think you make more stops at different places where on the ocean you could be out of sight of land for weeks.
