I think you need to part it out yourself. If you sell it to another person, you need to convey the title to them.

Not your problem.  Just do a relese of liability and you'll be ok.

I sold a car and submitted a release of liability and months afterward a cop came to my door because the car I sold was abandoned and the property owner wanted me to pay to have it removed.  Because I had done the release of liability I was off the hook!  The cop actually accessed the DMV records from his car and said I wouldn't be bothered again.

You could also get a salvage title, but that's alot more trouble.

Either sell the parts yourself or give the title to the buyer and make sure it gets registered to them. otherwise it is still under your name and you could be held responsible for any problems.

You cannot make a legal sale of a vehicle, for parts, or otherwise, without the title to the vehicle.  Junk yards and metal scrap collectors cannot accept them without a title.
