I am totally having trouble with post trotting! Help!!!?

Btw, I ride western. And I'm having trouble with rythim. The horse I am dealing with likes to trot at full speed and I can't go up and down that fast. Plz help.

well first off you shouldnt be posting in western. If you want to move on to english with this horse, sit the trot untill you can collect the horse in a nice steady, slow beat. Then, use english gear to practice your posting. If your riding with western gear the pomel and horn will make it difficult to post.

english saddle and let your seat move with the horse and make sure you are on the correct diagional do more at the slow then speed it up. keep the horse slow with your reins and make sure you are not kicking him when you post. in the WESTERN SADDLE try to stay close to the saddle and not rise so high.sink into your heels. try that have fun keep your horse in hand.

Slow the horse down, if you want to post get a English saddle, its much easier.
