I am traveling on an airplane with a laptop????

i am taking my laptop with me when i fly on an air plane tuesday how do i get it through security will the metal detector hurt what do they do because i have never taken a laptop on a plane with me or how do i protect it

  1. you dont have to take apart anything.

    while you go through security, just take ur laptop, and put it in the tray on top of your bag if you want

    they scan it

    then u get everything back.... nothing different.

    only difference is you have to take it out of the bag while youre going through security


  2. At security they will ask you to take the battery out of the computer, and they will put both pieces through the scanner.  The scanners they have these days don't hurt your computer in any way.

  3. You don't need to dismantle your computer to go through screening.

    You only have to remove it from the case and put it into a separate tray.

    It's going to be scanned and that's all - it won't damage any of the components. Mine has travelled with me several times (including the US) and that's always the same procedure.
