I am traveling to Cancun area on Sunday. I am coming home the following Thursday, anyone know if Dean will hit

I am treveling to Cancun/Playa Del Carmen Sunday thru Thursday the 23rd, anybody have any guesses or info if by then Hurricane Dean will affect that area? Thanks!

I live here in Cancun, and they are predicting a category 4 (Wilma was 5) to hit by 2:00 am Tuesday.  The path could change, but rather safe than sorry...Reschedule your trip!

We will know more by Saturday where Dean is going. Love to see this storm just go north and out to sea but it may head out towards the Gulf and Cancun. Keep tuned to the weather just in case.

As a long-time resident of Cancun...and many a hurricane survivor...I would postpone my plans if I were you. Unless you feel you need a dangerous thrill.

I just checked myself, I will be going to the Yucatan on the 26Th. It looks like Dean should be around the Yucatan sometime around Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. Which will be around the 21st or 22nd. It may sift by then so you never know about Hurricanes, I live in Houston, we have seen a few. I have seen a lot of predictions, but no one really knows where these things are going until they are about a day out. As of right now it looks like this one is heading directly for the Yucatan if it stays directly on the track it's on. I hope it goes south, but you never know? This is where you may track the storm.

That's like asking if your airplane will crash or not!!

It's impossible to predict when a hurricane will land or exactly where.  

You are best to just go and enjoy your holiday and not worry.  Cancun has an excellent contingency plan for storms and you will be safely looked after if staying at a resort.  They treat their tourists better than their citizens.
