  1. Right now it is about 53 F in Lima, with a relative humidity of 100%. Although it doesn't sound very cold, the humidity accentuates the "coldness" in much the same way as the wind chill factor does. The effect is particularly strong in the morning.

My recommendation: Bring a coat. Not a down jacket , but definitely something thicker than a windbreaker.

  2. You'll probably want to take a light jacket, preferably one that is water resistant/proof.

Better to have it than to go without one and get stuck in the rain and chilly weather.

  3. In cooler/cold temps they always advise to dress in layers. I would say that your best bet is to take a sweater and a jacket along. When it gets too warm for you, just remove the sweater or jacket. It's better to be prepared. However, if you do not want to take your sweater, and if it's colder than you expected and would like to wear a sweater under your jacket, at Miraflores, there is a nice market that sells beautiful sweaters. You might like to take one home as a souvenir and wear it whilst you're there. Because it is a market you can get it for a reasonable price.Much cheaper than regular stores and if you know how to haggle too, it would be cheaper.
