With all due respect the answer above about staying near the airpot is perhaps the worst advice I have ever heard about visiting Paris.

There are a lot of very pleasant, centrally located hotels in Paris that are clean and comfortable. True, they will not be like a cookie cutter, characterless, American motel chain in Omaha but then, If you wanted that why bother coming to Paris. Furthermore, if you're staying at the airport or in some dreary suburb the cost of getting into the city by cab ($60+ per trip each way) wipes out any savings.

My favorite hotel is the St. Andre des Artes at 66 rue St. Andre des Artes. You can get a double with breakfast (French style...ie. coffee or hot chocolate with a baquette and jam) for 86 euros a night. Its located in the absolute center of Paris and you can walk to everything from Notre Dame to the Louvre. http://www.123france.com/en/0/hotel-sain...

don't stay by the airport....paris has so many choices in all price ranges it would be a shame not to take advantage of a charming centrally located hotel or apartment!!!!
