We do not want to be rushed and want to be able to stop and see everything and go on some tours, however I don't want to try and cram too much in so it is a relaxing holiday? Do you think this is possible? My husband and I and our ten year old son are planning on going and my mother in law? Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks

  1. Honestly I would cut one week off, and one country off the itinerary, much as I love all the places you plan to visit.  I travel with a 10 year old, and after 2 weeks he was homesick and cranky during our most recent 'road trip', which took us round California.

Also, I love my mother in law very much, but would find 4 weeks 24/7 hard going.  When are you planning to let her, and your 10 year old 'let off steam' separately?  Do you have plans to meet up with others with children (and possibly grandmas)  the same age?  Don't get me wrong, I don't tailor my vacations to be 100% perfect for the children to the detriment of my own tastes, but they need a mix of age-appropriate stuff in with the cultural taste-explosion that this holiday will give - their enthusiasm needs to be fed.  Example, we traded off a visit to Hearst Castle, which bored the kids rigid, except for the swimming pools, for a day at Universal Studios later on.  Most of the rest of the things we did had us all enthralled.

Have fun, whatever you decide - this question ended up in the hockey section because a & symbol appeared in the question, a glitch that I sincerely hope Yahoo will fix very soon!

  2. It will be more then enough time. You have 2 days for siteseeing and 5 days to relax in each Country! You might have too much time.

Next time please post in the propper section! You'll get more answers.

  3. I agree with "your bartender"...that should be plenty of time.

Btw:  Wrong section, and I am totally jealous.
