  1. Working to strengthen the muscles in the back is important. When we get injuries we tend to lose strength and that's the opposite of what we need. Do pilates safely. it will help

  2. The only way to eliminate pain is to fix the problem generating it. Pain is a signal that contains the information necessary to fix the problem. Read http://www.helium.com/tm/148271 for how to details.

  3. It depends if it's a spinal problem or a muscular problem I some times get a sore back and I try this?

Gentle bend forward to touch you toes until you start to feel the pain, then hold that position until the pain subsides, then bend a little bit more until you feel the pain again and hold that position again until the pain subsides, keep doing this until you find the pain has gone.

BUT IF THE PAIN DOES NOT SUBSIDE THE FIRST TIME YOU TRY THIS. STOP AT ONCE! AND GO AND SEE A GOOD DOCTOR.

    GOOD LUCK.

  4. have you tried the tens unit?

  5. Ask your doctor about physical therapy.  They treat back pain.

  6. I have heard of great results with spinal decompression.  I know very little about it but it seems to be legitimate:

  7. Eugenia,

I don't know if this will help you but here goes.

I was paralysed from the waist down in February 2007,  I had surgery and afterwards could move my big toe on my left foot.

Spent 6 weeks in rehab hospital and sent home.  Every day I was in constant pain even when I was lying down.  I tried every kind of drug, they worked for awhile and then the pain returned.

I went to a pain management clinic and they gave me a steroid shot,  the first of a series of three.  After 3 days I could walk without pain and am even starting to play golf again.

I received the first shot shot on March 31st and have not scheduled for a second shot.  The Doctor says that I may not need it.

I am continuing to go to physical therapy once a week to straighten my legs since I did not use them for a long time.

    Try it......good luck.
